The Word of Wisdom is a beautiful, supernatural gift from the Holy Spirit. It is not something we learn through experience or education—it is divine direction given directly by God, just when we need it. When we receive and obey this wisdom, breakthroughs are sure to follow!
Take the wedding at Cana as a wonderful example (John 2). The wine had run out—a shameful situation in Jewish tradition. But Jesus was present. His mother Mary simply said, “Do whatever He tells you.” The servants obeyed, and water turned into wine! That’s the power of the Word of Wisdom—a divine instruction, when followed, leads to miracles.
What Is the Word of Wisdom?
It is the Holy Spirit revealing God’s will for a future event or situation. It might be one instruction, a vision, or a quiet whisper in our hearts—but it always carries divine authority.
Biblical Example: Elisha and the Widow (2 Kings 4:1–7)
A widow approached the prophet Elisha in deep distress. Creditors were threatening to take her sons. She had nothing except a jar of oil.
Elisha, inspired by divine wisdom, told her:
“Go, borrow empty vessels… not just a few. Shut the door and start pouring.”
She obeyed, and the oil kept flowing until every vessel was full! She sold the oil, paid her debts, and had enough to live on. One Word of Wisdom changed her life.
Personal Testimony
Years ago, I was wrongly accused and slandered. I stayed silent and praised God. Then, the Word of the Lord came to me:
“They’ve taken a stand against you. I will break them one by one—only pray.”
I followed this instruction, and just as promised, the opposition collapsed. God’s wisdom never fails.
When I led a prayer group, the Holy Spirit often gave me the Word of Wisdom. This divine guidance helped us overcome spiritual attacks. Again and again, following His wisdom led to victory.
How Do We Receive the Word of Wisdom?
The Holy Spirit may speak through:
- An audible voice
- Sanctified imagination
- Visions or dreams
- The Holy Bible
- The gentle inner voice
- Angelic encounters
- Preaching and testimonies
- Prophecy, tongues, and interpretations
- Even spiritual books and inspired conversations
God can use any channel to give His precious wisdom.
Why Is It Important?
Because it brings clarity in confusion, hope in despair, and victory in the midst of trials. The Word of Wisdom is a heavenly GPS—one step in the right direction can lead you out of trouble into triumph.
So let’s stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit. His wisdom is always timely, loving, and full of life. When we follow it, breakthroughs are just around the corner.
