Tangible Encounters with Divine Glory
The glory of God is His manifest presence—an awe-inspiring and tangible experience. Throughout history, this divine presence has been seen, felt, and experienced by many. From the Old Testament to the New Testament and even today, God’s glory continues to move powerfully among His people.
Experiencing God’s Glory in the Old Testament
Visible Signs of God’s Glory Among the Israelites
In the Old Testament, the Israelites witnessed the glory of God with their own eyes. As Aaron addressed the congregation, the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloud:
“And as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the Israelites, they looked toward the wilderness, and the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.” (Exodus 16:10)
The glory cloud protected, provided, and guided them. It wasn’t just a visual display but an active presence that led them through the wilderness. When God’s glory filled the tabernacle, it was so powerful that Moses could not enter:
“The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” (Exodus 40:34-35)
Prophetic Encounters with the Glory
Moses and Ezekiel’s Transformative Experiences
Many prophets had remarkable encounters with God’s glory. Moses spent 40 days on Mount Sinai in the presence of the Lord, completely enveloped by the glory cloud (Exodus 24:15-18). Ezekiel also encountered the glory of God, falling on his face in reverence:
“The glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory I had seen by the river Chebar, and I fell on my face.” (Ezekiel 3:22-23)
The Glory in the New Testament
Manifestations of Glory in Clouds and Light
In the New Testament, God’s glory continued to manifest. At the Transfiguration, a cloud overshadowed Jesus, and a voice spoke from the cloud:
“While He was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them.” (Luke 9:34)
Similarly, Paul’s life was transformed by a bright light on the road to Damascus:
“Suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.” (Acts 9:3)
The Glory of God Today
Miracles, Healing, and Divine Encounters
God’s glory is still manifesting in powerful ways today. When His glory fills a place, miracles happen, time seems to stand still, and burdens are lifted. Generational curses are broken, and healing occurs instantaneously.
Testimonies of His Glory:
- A preacher shared:
“As I was preaching, the glory of the Lord came into the building, and a thick fog, like a cloud, filled the room.” - Another testimony recounted:
“I was alone, praising God, when His presence came in like a cloud and knocked me flat. I lay still for half an hour until the glory lifted.”
Conclusion: Living in the Manifest Presence
When God’s glory manifests, nothing is impossible. His glory is a refuge, a shield, and a testament to His power. Expect miracles, breakthroughs, and divine encounters because the glory of God transforms everything it touches.
“The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 58:8)
Let us seek His presence and dwell in His glory, where the impossible becomes possible.
