Waiting on a Prophetic Promise
I was overjoyed when I heard the voice of God about a retreat center being built in Cuttack, Odisha—my beloved state. What surprised me was the detail that this center would come to pass after my marriage. At that time, I was fully devoted to God, and the idea of marriage wasn’t even on my mind. Yet, God had a plan.
When I shared this message with my parish priest, he joked, “Then get married soon so the retreat center can come soon!” But deep down, I knew I had to wait on God’s perfect timing.
A 22-Year Wait
Initially, I believed this prophecy would be fulfilled quickly. But I got married 22 years later, on June 6, 2015. It was a long and patient wait, guided by faith and hope.
“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
— Isaiah 30:15
Though I didn’t immediately seek confirmation, God affirmed the prophecy through multiple people with prophetic gifts. I often heard words like:
- “She will be a helper to you.”
- “I will make two families one.”
- “I need your body; I do it for My own sake.”
Many Prophetic Confirmations

I spent many years at the Divine Retreat Centre in the Gethsemane Prayer Group, praying fervently. Every year, someone would share a word about my future marriage: “It will happen suddenly,” “She will be a nurse,” “Her name will be Mary,” or “It will happen in a Church named after Mother Mary, in Chalakudy.”
In December 2013, Amala Mary, a friend from the prayer group, called and shared that a praying lady had received a message from God: she and I would be married, and that lady had been praying for us for two years. She even fasted to confirm the word. At first, I dismissed the idea, but when I prayed, I felt the glory of God’s presence, affirming the word.
Wrestling with Doubts and Discernment
Though the prophetic confirmations continued, doubts and circumstances made me question. One prophetic friend—who didn’t know about the proposal—spoke clearly during prayer: “Do not fear… The Lord will show you the path…”
Another member of our prayer group had a vision and confirmed that the girl I would marry was Amala Mary. A visiting woman to our prayer group also confirmed that I would be marrying a younger woman, as per God’s will.
God’s Perfect Timing
One night, a preacher and I knelt to pray before a vigil. He sensed the presence of God and asked if the woman I was considering was a nurse. He then confirmed, “This marriage is from God.”
The final confirmation came when I was working on a book about prayer. God whispered to my heart:
“When this book is published, you will get married.”
And indeed, soon after the book was published, everything began to fall into place.
Patience Brings the Promise to Life

Patience is vital when waiting for God’s promises. It involves trust, surrender, and letting go of our own timelines.
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.”
— Isaiah 48:17
Final Thoughts
The journey of patience is not easy—but it’s holy. When God speaks, He will surely bring it to pass in His perfect time. Let this story be an encouragement to anyone holding on to a promise: Wait on the Lord. He is faithful.
