The Fruit of Patience – III

Patience is not just about waiting—it’s about how we wait. After years of holding on to God’s promises, I finally began to see them unfold, and it was nothing short of miraculous.

After my book was published, a woman close to our family called to say that the girl’s parents wanted to proceed with the marriage before the rains began—typically around June 1st. That left barely a month to prepare.

Despite the tight timeline, I moved forward in faith. My uncle and aunt (Anto Uncle and Lily Aunty) were overjoyed and stood with me through every step. I kept praying and sensing the Holy Spirit’s presence throughout the process. My sister had already booked tickets to Kerala months earlier to attend a retreat in the first week of June—God’s perfect timing!

Rainy Season and Family Concerns

The girl’s family was concerned about the rain and saw it as inauspicious. But I believed rain was a blessing—Jesus said so. I reassured them, “I’ve got a big umbrella—we’ll use it if needed!”

The Financial Challenge

At the time, I had only ₹6,000 in hand. But the basic marriage needs were estimated to cost ₹2,00,000! I joked with a friend, “Let’s postpone the marriage to next year,” but deep down, I knew God would provide.

“And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus,” – Philippians 4:19

God’s Faithfulness in Provision

Looking back, I remembered how God had always come through—during illness, travel, book publishing, and more. I never relied on a salary or took royalties from my first book, trusting instead in God’s provision. And once again, He provided.

Ninety percent of the funds came from relatives—brothers-in-law, cousins, uncles, aunties. It truly became a family celebration.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth,” – Psalm 121:1-2

Engagement and Divine Encouragement

On the way to Kottayam for the engagement, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” The skies stayed clear. God even brought old friends from Odisha who had settled nearby.

During the visit, Brother Sony, a gospel preacher, prayed and shared what he heard from God—it was another confirmation.

Prophetic Word Before the Marriage

The night before the wedding, I received a powerful prophetic word from the Lord. He declared:

“From tomorrow onwards, you will get a beautiful life… the Lord has chosen the way you are walking. You yourself can command the waves to open from now onwards…”

It was overwhelming and comforting.

The Wedding Day Joy

On the day of the marriage, I woke up at 2 AM and prayed until 5 AM. There was deep joy in communing with the Lord on such a significant day.

“Like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course,” – Psalm 19:5

Conclusion: Faithful is He Who Called

This journey taught me that waiting on God is never in vain. Though the fulfillment may tarry, it will surely come. From prophecy to provision, God took care of every detail.

If you’re waiting on God’s promises today, hold on. Be patient. Be faithful. The fruit of patience is always sweet.
