What Is This Power?

Just as electricity is an earthly substance, the anointing is a heavenly substance. The power of God is like electricity on earth. You can touch it, feel it, and transfer it. The anointing, like electricity, can be felt, transferred, and stored.

We see an incident in the Bible where a group of people, while burying a dead man, came under attack by bandits. In their scramble to escape, they threw the dead body onto the grave of the prophet Elisha. Immediately, the dead body touched Elisha’s bones and came back to life. This miracle shows that God’s power remained stored in Elisha’s bones, bringing life back to the dead man. Just as electricity can be stored in batteries, God’s power can also be stored.

Biblical Reference: “So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. As a man was being buried, a marauding band was seen and the man was thrown into the grave of Elisha; as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he came to life and stood on his feet” (2 Kings 13:20-21).

Sensing God’s Power

When the Kings of Israel and Judah approached Prophet Elisha for the Word of the Lord, he called for a musician because he did not sense God’s power. As the musician played, God’s power came upon Elisha tangibly, enabling him to prophesy. Thus, God’s power can be felt just like electricity.

Biblical Reference: “But get me a musician.’ And then, while the musician was playing, the power of the LORD came on him. And he said, ‘Thus says the LORD…'” (2 Kings 3:15-16).

Transferring God’s Power

The power of God, like electricity, can be transferred to different places and people. One example from the Holy Scriptures is about the Apostle Paul. The anointing upon Paul was transferred to others through handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched his skin. When these clothes were brought into contact with the sick or demon-possessed, healing and deliverance occurred.

Biblical Reference: “God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that when the handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were brought to the sick, their diseases left them, and the evil spirits came out of them” (Acts 19:11-12).

The Flow of God’s Power

Similarly, God’s power can flow like electricity. For example, a woman suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years spent all her money on physicians. She approached Jesus and touched the fringe of His robe, and God’s power flowed out of Him, healing her.

Biblical Reference: “Then Jesus asked, ‘Who touched me?’ When all denied it, Peter said, ‘Master, the crowds surround you and press in on you.’ But Jesus said, ‘Someone touched me; for I noticed that power had gone out from me” (Luke 8:45-46).
